For a country like Norway, that has so little flat land, it’s amazing that so many beautiful places are given over to camping. But, then again, Norway has so few cities and so many wild places, you can be sure that a camping holiday in Norway will take you far from the madding crowds.
The Norwegian coast is no stranger to the spectacular or the sublime when it comes to stunning scenery. The high icefields of the Jotunheim are a breath-taking attraction. As you head north along the wilderness roads north of Tromso, you will find pristine forests and mountain landscapes to entice the most rugged outdoor camping enthusiast. Off the coast are the dramatic cliffs and rugged peaks of the Lofoten Islands.
To cap it all, here is the North Cape, the land of the midnight sun and almost the most northerly point in Europe. Here, where the sun never sets, the true call of the wild beckons the eager camper, seeking to experience the never-ending day. A camper in Norway can really experience a unique sense of harmony with nature, for in this land there is space unimaginable in central Europe and beyond. Norway is the rugged camper’s paradise.
