Well, that’s the evening sorted out then, apart from the fine wines, the cheeses and the fresh salads. A certain standard must be maintained even here. Don’t forget the bread man first thing in the morning, with his fresh baguettes, piping hot croissants and pain au chocolat! You will just love camping in France!
The French have taken the art of camping to new levels. Most towns, large and small, have a municipal camping ground that is heavily subsidised and exceedingly good value. These are often leafy areas beside a river, with a certain charm and where barges or canal boats glide slowly by. We can find luxury camping places all over France, and with so many chateaux and museums to see, why not?
Camping in France is a fine option and the weather, as you head south, is certainly accommodating. There’s little need to discus the weather in the south, except to say how hot it is. Ah, the little things of camping in France, the smells of the lavande, the thyme and the ’erbes…
